Jesse Siminski returns with a great new EP for Seth Troxler’s esteemed imprint.
This hero of mid-noughties minimal is most defined by his output on Richie Hawtin’s M-nus powerhouse, in addition to releases on Hot Creations and of course his on ISNISNT vinyl imprint – launched in 2012.
It just released a great split EP by himself and acid freak Justin Cudmore. ‘Nairobi Candles: Burning Bright’ features three reduced and bumped out jams that are at their optimum when played in the early evening or after hours alike.
The bass driven mini-funk of dynamic opener “Stop Lorraine” (No One’s Gunna Stop mix) proves that as much as Siminki’s output has slowed down in recent years, he certainly hasn’t lost his groove.
The title track’s Fuck Rachel Tension mix gets off on a more retro tip, referencing Italo and early Chicago house aesthetics for a right jackathon!
